Public Computers

The library has a variety of computers for public use. These computers provide access to the library Catalog, the Internet, Microsoft Office programs, online databases of all kinds.  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent while they use the Internet. Computers may be used for a maximum of one hour per day. A library card or computer use card is required to use the library’s Internet computers. All public computers are subject to the Library’s Internet Acceptable Use Policy and related guidelines of use. Computers specifically for genealogical and local history research are located in the genealogy room. These computers include databases of local interest, genealogical resources such as Heritage Quest, and research aides. Multi-Media Computers, with a variety of programs and games for young children, are available in the Children’s area. The library also offers free wireless Internet access to users who bring their personal laptop computers, and if appropriately configured, can connect them to the Internet. Laptops with USB’s are now available.
